Quote of the day

As I haven't been posting for a while due to various reasons, I will make up to you by posting my all time favorite quote:

"The future belongs to those who believe in the beauty of their dreams"

- Eleanor Roosevelt

I came across this quote when I was in San Francisco in July 2013.
Ever since it has been in my mind and it has played an important role in my decision making process of changing my life and dedicating time and energy in following my heart and chasing my dreams.

The quote was on a postcard which I bought. The postcard is now on my fridge (with many others, see picture below :-)). I see it every day and it reminds me to have faith and trust in my dreams. I love dreaming and I have lot's of dreams.

This actually reminds me.......

The other day I came across an article which was about children with difficulties concentrating. Children who like daydreaming, children who like to be in their own bubbles.

Obviously, these kids are being labelled, or in other words, these kids are being put in a box, because they are 'different'. In the article the parents described how they struggled with the fact that doctors and teachers etc highly recommended to use a certain medicine in order to pull the kid back to the norm of society.
Now, I'm not a doctor, but please, is this normal? What actually is normal? What is the norm? We cannot all be as the norm = normal. Luckily we are not all 'normal'.... what a boring world that would be!! We would not have had the amazing wonders of Steve jobs, Albert Einstein, Coco Chanel, Leonardo da Vinci and many others.

If a kid likes daydreaming, let it daydream! It will make a great designer, professor or whatever in future. Let a kid be a kid. Let them be themselves instead of punishing them and giving them medicine. Expectations and judgement of society....... already on kids? No, let your kids be who they are and let them be proud of it. Let them dream. Because, even if they are different, they are great, different is GREAT!
