Love is the willingness to see that which is real in each and everything. It's the willingness to let go of what you think something is in order to see and feel it clearly - as it really is.
Namaste.

Detachment
What a turbulent days it has been..... crazy
I basically spent my entire weekend sorting out my personal belongings.
It's amazing to see how many things a person can collect in 1000 days.
1000 days is the amount of days I have been in China.
To be exact it's 1013 days, but 1000 just looks better ;-)
1000 days......
And what an experience it has been. So many things I have learned, so many amazing people I have met. And so many things I have collected. That's what I figured out yesterday.
Today the shipping company came to pack and collect all my stuff.
4 guys. In 4 hours they packed my 'entire life' in 56 packs/ boxes.
It was like watching a movie fast forward.
And then they were gone and I was alone.....
Completely alone in an empty apartment. That was weird. And honestly I had to turn a switch not to get emotional. But it was also good. A good moment as a closure of an era.
What I thought of today in terms of age eras:
between
0-10: you are growing up and learning
10-20: you start to explore and form an identity
20-30: you experience the life as expected by society (study, work, relationship etc)
and then......
this is exactly how it feels for me. At this point it feels I have completed a phase and I'm ready for the next. Ready for life...... ready to let go.....
And it feels good. I kind of feel enlightened not having my stuff around me.... detachment.... looking at the world with fresh eyes....

Questions for life
The other day I was meeting a friend. We were discussing life.
She is very much in control. In control of her life, in control of her love.
She wants to know what is coming up and she plans everything she does.
At some point, she said, "I have the feeling life is passing by on me".
Then I asked her this question: "Imagine I give you a present right now. It is a box. And in this box there's only 1 life and you can decide what to do with it, what would you do with it?
Here's 10 more questions as food for thought:
1. How old would you be if you didn’t know how old you are?
2. Which is worse, failing or never trying?
3. If life is so short, why do we do so many things we don’t like and like so many things we don’t do?
4. When it’s all said and done, will you have said more than you’ve done?
5. If happiness was the national currency, what would make you rich?
6. Are you doing what you believe in, or are you settling for what you are doing?
7. Are you more worried about doing things right, or doing the right things?
8. If you could offer a newborn child only one piece of advice, what would it be?
9. What does creativity mean to you?
10. What are you most grateful for?

Gevoel
vertrouwd

Enemies & teachers
Our enemies are our greatest teachers
They’re the ones who expose our lack of patience and compassion, and inspire us to work harder to become truly gentle warriors for peace
They give us the resistance to further grow & develop
I once read this in the 'The art of happiness' by the Dalai Lama (a gift from my lovely neighbor).
I wrote it down in my quote book, but it did not really live yet.
Until today.
Let's say today was day of extremes. Of big contrasts. I saw the state of happiness of certain persons reflected in their actions and behavior.
I was waiting for my lunch order when I noticed one of the waitresses going outside with a warm lunchbox. She handed it out to a homeless man sitting on the street (see pic below).
It was a gift from an anonymous, warm hearted person.
Then there was somebody today who acted in a very 'cold hearted' way. So bad that it completely upset me. I really have difficulties dealing with injustice and this was a hard lesson. I was disappointed at myself when I realized how it impacted my state of mind and mood.
Then there was Jade today, who brought me back on track and made me realize again what it means to follow your heart.
Even though I have taken the decision to follow my heart a couple of weeks ago, I have noticed how easy it is to fall back in old behavior and thoughts. Today my 'enemies' showed me what I don't want to be and what I don't want to become. This is exactly why I have chosen a different direction. The direction of happiness, of beauty, of peacefulness and of love.
I'm not 'there' yet, I'm still learning. But what a great lessons, what a great awareness.
Thanks to my enemies, thanks to my teachers.
Namaste.
