Oxygen could be described as our most essential food. One we often forget about. We care about the quality of our food and the quality of our physical exercise, but not so much about the quality of our breathing.
Air is strongly charged with prana and therefor it is so important to take deep breaths.
As babies, we fully breath into our bellies, but when we grow up we tend to breath very shallow, meaning the breath only reaches the chest, not the belly.
The best way to breath is through the nose, a long and deep inhalation, expand your belly and slowly exhale through the nose, releasing the air from the belly.
Fun fact of the day: did you know that one nostril (neusgat) predominates in breathing and that the roles reverse every 2 hours? Meaning, that every 2 hours the other nostril gets slightly blocked. Interesting :-)
Happy breathing.
Namaste.
